Haystack Rock is Jon Slow’s Album Out Now
This artist has the great ability to put his deepest emotions into music.
As soon as I pressed the play button I immediately liked his sincere way of composing songs.
A rock/folk rich in nuances and inspirations that manages to entertain the listener from the first to the last second.
Jon Slow is a mature artist who composes solid songs. His music speaks about different emotions, joy, pain, and nostalgia and therefore everyone can relate.
Haystack Rock is a good album, some songs made me think of artists like Bob Dylan. The recording is good and above all it is real.
This artist doesn’t rely on beats and computers and that’s why his music is so meaningful.
I suggest to everyone listening to this album several times in order to savor all the meticulous details of the musical arrangements.
A great find that I recommend to everyone.

Haystack Rock is Jon Slow’s Album Out Now
Acoustic rock songwriter Jon Slow just released his new album “Haystack Rock” worldwide on streaming media, vinyl, and CD. The follow-up to 2015’s underground release “In the In Between” and 2012’s renowned EP “The One You Feed” is generating powerful early buzz; We Write About Music says, “Jon Slow’s latest album Haystack Rock is a testament to the power of perseverance and the importance of staying positive in the face of adversity. Drawing inspiration from his personal experiences and the cultural hub of Black Rock, this New England-based singer-songwriter has crafted a collection of acoustic-based rock songs that are both heartfelt and introspective.”
“Haystack Rock”is propelled by Jon’s decision to trust inspiration and improvisation – recording the album over a purposefully undefined timetable in his home studio. Jon Slow built the album on a bedrock of multi-layered acoustic guitars, vocal harmonies, Stratocaster, sax, clarinet, and flute riffs, as he did on Kid Rock’s “Polyfuze Method”LP; Traffic and Beatlesque mellotron vibes organically dropping into the mic. Putting the “Rock” in Haystack Rock, legendary Bassman Al Cooke complements acoustic rhythms, dancing in counterpoint with vocal melodies. Phil Bloom sits behind the drum kit, adding djembe spice after playing gigs together at historic alt-rock NYC venues The Elbow Room and Kenny’s Castaways. Renowned mastering engineer Jon Weil’s (Gin Blossoms, Ed Sheeran), studio magic elevates the project to new levels.
“Haystack Rock” is the story of a man facing challenge after challenge, coming out the other side not only victorious but grateful, wiser, and happier; fueled by falling in love in a world changed by COVID. Reflecting on a trip to Oregon where Jon was inspired by a Pacific shoreline monument called Haystack Rock, Slow realized moments which take you out of the hustle and bustle, allow you to breathe the air and feel the sunlight on your skin; appreciate the moment you are in and who you are lucky enough to share it with – that is the beauty of being alive, that is Haystack Rock; the embodiment of what being able to make music means to Jon and why he wants to share it with the world.
