Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Grooblen. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I really liked the vibes of her music.
Picture yourself in front of a fire on the beach on a beautiful summer evening.
Imagine a beautiful girl singing songs with her guitar… enjoy this serene moment and surrender without question to the emotions that her music conveys to you.
This is what I saw when I listened to the songs of this talented artist who with her ethereal and fragile voice can make you travel with your mind.
A music that touches the soul and warms the heart.
A simple music, I would say minimalist, where every sound element has its own weight and where nothing is taken for granted.
It’s not easy to compose songs like this, where the lyrics become predominant and where the music must accompany gently, without showing off too much and frame this beautiful picture painted by this fantastic artist.
Dinosaur Plant/The Spider is Grooblen’s EP Out Now!
Delicate music that caresses the soul!
Ellie Stokes, also know by her alias “Grooblen”, is an indie jazz and rock musician based out of San Francisco, California with an extremely unique sound and an even more unique personality.
Grooblen was recently diagnosed with a rare optic nerve disease and that inspired her to write the write first track on the EP, and about a month later, after she experienced some side effects from being prescribed a trial medication to try and cure the disease, she wrote “The Spider”. The songs are meant to represent the ambivalent state that Grooblen was in during this time in her life.
