From the opening track, “City Lights,” which eclipses even Woodstock in terms of raw energy, the album is a relentless assault on the senses.
Tracks like “Helplessly Waiting” and “Careful As You Go” continue the high-energy vibe, with tribal rhythms and an almost overwhelming frenetic pace.
The band’s ability to create magical alchemy is impressive and creates a cohesive listening experience.
“The Raven,” a title that here at Edgar Allan Poets we can’t miss, is a psychedelic masterpiece. Its ethereal and ancestral qualities transport the listener to otherworldly realms.
Let’s not forget “Hold On Child,” a Hendrix-inspired track with a killer guitar riff and tight rhythm section.
The album’s title track, “Golden Leaf Sheets,” is a more introspective affair. It’s a psychedelic ballad that delves into the subconscious, drawing comparisons to the Kula Shaker.
The album concludes with the interstellar “Cabin Fever,” a futuristic track that features a unique xylophone intro and a sense of cosmic wonder.

The four original members, Shane Brett (Drums), Michael Laverty (Bass), Michael Stafford (Vocals, lyrics, keyboards, Guitar and Alto Sax), and Peter Laverty (Lead Guitar), have gigged extensively and played multiple festivals and leading music venues in Europe, including the Spirit Store in Ireland, The Paradiso in Amsterdam, Kapu (Culture Centre) Linz, and The Dublin Castle in London.
In October 2021, the band was sponsored by the Irish Government (Department of Arts & Culture) to play an exclusive online gig at the famous Great Northern Brewery in Ireland, which was released to rave reviews in the music press.
In 2021, Pork Pie recorded their debut album “Pterodactyl,” which has received excellent reviews to date (“stunning” – Indierocks.co.uk). Since then, Pork Pie has been in the studio recording and is back with a new album (Golden Leaf Sheets).
