our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Fly The Nest. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I really liked the melodic originality of his songs.
The first thing that struck me about this artist is the original approach to writing melodic lines.
Fast and elaborate lyrics that are sung quickly and leave no escape.
Music that manages to entertain the listener from the first to the last second and keeps you glued to the speakers.
The drums push along with the bass while the guitars offer comfort with sweeter harmonies capable of creating a bit of nostalgia.
This “minor key” approach aimed at creating a bit of melancholy is what I liked the most in the way of writing songs of this artist.
The production is interesting, the voice is kept very much in the mix and becomes an integral part of the music.
The sounds and the vocals coexist in a perfect balance and the songs flow flawlessly from start to finish.

Dublin native Fly the Nest (Stephen Cooper) started playing music at a young age, performing in various bands before starting solo project Fly the Nest, a name inspired by the many adventures music has led him on. As well as writing and releasing his own music, Stephen also writes for sync, and says that writing for film and TV has opened up another facet of his creativity.
Stephen now spends his time between Ireland and Denmark, and gigs regularly across Scandinavia. 2021 is proving to be another big year for Stephen, who is known for wide, cinematic songs and precise songwriting.
