Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to The Tiger Moths. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their vintage sound.
E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – The Tiger Moths
I was impressed with the sound of this band. What struck me was the vintage approach to composing their songs.
A way of thinking music that recalls the 70s, especially the song You Really Don’t Know brings with it all the irreverence and the typical English compositional style.
The production is a bit rough but absolutely consistent with the musical vision that these guys have. A glossier production would not have been suitable for this type of music.
A band that has clear ideas on which way to go to make themselves known by the masses.
A good find to keep under the radar.

E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – The Tiger Moths
The Tiger Moths are a five-piece Americana inspired rock band from London. Heavily influenced by the late 60s/ early 70s folk-rock and country rock scenes, the Moths combine alt-country guitar runs, jazz-infused piano and a thundering rhythm section to forge a new and exciting twist on the Americana genre.
An established live act on the London scene, the band were due to play the semi-final of the Isle of Wight Festival New Blood competition, as well as Camden Rocks Festival, before the pandemic struck in 2020. But they haven’t let the virus slow them down and, with a couple of EPs already behind them, their debut full length album is due out in the autumn.
Formed from the ashes of King of Spain and Erin Black and the Devil’s Hand. they are Rich Orpin (vocals, guitar, harmonica), Alex Rosenberg (piano, vocals), Tom Watson (bass, vocals), Dave Moschini (drums) and Tom Fleming (guitar).
