Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Down South Pepper band. I discovered this band while shuffling songs on Spotify I liked a lot their style.
I have always liked the music that makes me think of pioneers. Notes that came to us today carried by the wind, bringing with it stories of past lives.
The sound of the Down South Pepper band reminds me of the Appalachian mountains and the Coen brothers’ films.
Surely we are faced with good musicians because to play this fast pace music you need technique and precision.
Honestly, I found no flaws in the new single “Son of a Gun”, the interpretation and performance are solid. This song makes you feel free like a wild horse running across the American prairies.
The production is excellent and in particular the mix that leaves the right space for each sound element and the song breathes well.
For sincere and direct music lovers I definitely recommend the Down South Pepper band.
Son of a Gun is Down South Pepper band’s Single Out Now!
Direct and Pure!
Down South Pepper band (aka DSP band) is from Kvalsund in Norway and plays americana and catchy outlaw country music. The songs are inspired by things they observe and experience, often the songs are about actual persons or incidents.
If you listen to independent country radio in US, Australia, New Zealand, Scandinavia or Europe you have probably heard DSP band’s songs several times. The songs are on rotation at radio stations worldwide. DSP band had placement International Country Music Chart – both at the top 40 single chart and the top 200 artist chart.
DSP band are Rune Nyby and Per Øyvind Mathisen, but also include several guest musicians on our songs – such as Lars Rune Rebbestad, Nils Mathisen, Eivind Kløverød and others.
