Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Doctor Payne. I discovered this artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I was fascinated by his music.
As soon as I pressed the play button, the vocal timbre of this artist made me think of Robert Smith, singer of The Cure.
The compositional style proposed by this eclectic artist is very interesting. An intricate chord progression with continuous twists and rhythmic changes makes his songs very captivating and you stay glued to the speakers from the first to the last second.
The production is very good the mix in particular leaves the right space for each sound element and the song breathes well.
The melody proposed in the new single Guilt is very intriguing and hides something sinister that is emphasized by the piano part that in some moments even reminded me of Transylvania’s landscapes.
An artist to keep under the radar because he has great creative skills.
Guilt is Doctor Payne’s Single Out Now!
Interesting and Eclectic!
Emphatic rock outfit Doctor Payne pulls listeners to the far reaches of musical emersion. Formed by Brighton based musician and producer Marlon Payne, the project targets the theme of mental peace in a chaotic world. Crafting compelling and dynamic songs, decorated ferociously with compositional experiments, the result is an epic list of tunes with unmistakable character.
