our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Dez Rocket. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked his rock vibes.
This artist proposes a music that is inspired by the past, a compositional style that recalls the 90s but at the same time manages to be modern.
His new album “Dezert Rocket” is a mix of emotions that has real rock as its main theme.
The thing I liked the most about this artist is his passion and honesty. He offers a direct and pure sound with no strings attached.
The production is deliberately left a little raw, in my opinion, a perfect choice because in this way I can feel the blood and the sweat of the songs that are composed in the rehearsal room and not in front of the computer playing with beats of various kinds.
Dez Rocket is an experienced artist who likes to experiment with music and this album is the maximum expression of his creativity.

Dezert Rocket is an Alternative/AltRock/HardPop solo artist based most of his career out of Van Nuys, California and now residing in St. Louis, Missouri, US. After almost 20 years in California playing in several bands, acting and modeling, Dez returned to St. Louis and released his first singles as a solo artist in 2014. His first paying performance as a singer was a wedding he played when he was 18 and at 19 formed his first band. After a brief stint as the lead singer of his cousin’s band in Florida, and desperate to make a living at what he loved the most, Dez became the lead singer of several different cover bands touring a large swath of North America.
Dez was probably most widely known for his role as the frontman and songwriter for Chongo Guru (1995-2002), an original AltRockPunk band playing the majority of their shows in Los Angeles and surrounding areas to a local cult following. Dez recently completed his self titled album “Dezert Rocket” recorded and mixed at The Tunnel and Stonyvale Sound in Tujunga, California.
