our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Dean Batten. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I really liked his music.
The music of this artist is very intimate and personal.
The recording and the vocal interpretation immediately made me think that I was in front of a great singer-songwriter.
A warm and deep voice that tells stories that you follow very carefully and you can’t get away until the song is over because you want to know how it ends.
In some moments the compositional style of Dean Batten reminded me of Tracy Chapman with these crepuscular melodies that speak directly to the heart and soul of the listener.
The production is excellent for the genre, simple and essential and the mix in particular leaves the right space for each sound element and the song breathes well.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.
