Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to College Elite. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked his way of composing music.
I immediately liked the energy with which this guy interprets his songs.
A compositional style that looks to the past but that manages to be modern at the same time. I felt modernity in some nuances in the melodic construction of the vocal line.
The vocal timbre is interesting, it reminded me of punk singers rather than rock and it is this mixture of styles that makes the overall sound of this artist so fascinating.
The production is a bit raw but perfect for the genre you can in fact feel the blood and sweat that make these songs honest and pure.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

College Elite is the music project from Joshua William, lo-fi garage rock, stripping songs down to be as raw and authentic as possible, with songs comprising of just drums, guitar and vocals. taking inspiration from years of alternative rock music, college elite takes from everything between early 90’s grunge to modern indie rock. College Elite is the perfect soundtrack to the 2000’s college dorm.
