Cinematic Inspired 2 – Dark Matter is James Myhill’s Album Out Now
This release sets a deeply atmospheric tone, drawing listeners into a world of eerie tension from the first track.
The album opener, Whispering Wind, ushers listeners into a moonlit forest, thick with mystery and full of hauntingly subtle pads. It’s an immersive journey that feels perfect for a moonlit night of suspense.
As the album continues with Grandfather Clock, the almost sinister vibe deepens, evoking the feel of a classic Carpenter film or an intense horror game.
Myhill’s experience as a composer shines here, crafting a refined sense of tension that feels deliberate and refined.
One standout, Run, captures a sense of urgency with its pace, making you feel as though you’re being chased through the misty streets of London. The intensity builds, pushing listeners to glance over their shoulders as the music races ahead.
The Underworld is where Myhill’s work takes a darker turn. This piece brings to mind the shadowy dimension that Stranger Things’ Eleven finds herself in, pulling you into an almost otherworldly realm. The meticulous sound design captures a surreal sense of descent, like Virgil guiding Dante into the depths of an inferno.
Haunted Bells follows, an ideal track for a gothic winter, chilling with its crescendo and filling you with shivers, as though you’re standing in a mossy field near a distant, clock-towered city.
Angels in Hell wraps up the album with an exotic, desert-like atmosphere, reminiscent of the Prince of Persia series or Mad Max. There’s an underlying, Middle Eastern-inspired melody that brings an edgy intensity, conjuring images of endless sands and distant dangers.
In all, Cinematic Inspired 2 – Dark Matter is an exceptional album—a carefully crafted journey into haunting worlds and mystic landscapes. It’s the ideal sonic escape for those seeking something dark, elegant, and thrilling.
