Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Chris Kabs. I discovered this artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked his message a lot.
A very important topic is the one treated by this artist in the song “More Than A Number”.
Chris Kabs is brave and uses his music to amplify an important message.
We live in a world that is very underdeveloped on an emotional and social level. Still, there are people who make a difference because of the skin color.
If a person is not very educated and has not studied I can try to understand his behavior since his brain is limited and if you are dealing with an ignorant there is nothing you can do about it… but that nowadays there are racist cops this frankly seems incredible to me.
With the training they have to do, how is it possible that no one has yet taught them not to discriminate?
Luckily there are artists like Chris Kabs who are not afraid and make their voice and message heard to the masses also through a fantastic video directed by Gerard Walsh.
More Than a Number is Chris Kabs’ Single Out Now!
Powerful Message!
Dublin based producer and singer-songwriter Chris Kabs has released a new single entitled “More Than a Number.” The song features a playful dance hall beat, colourful instrumentation jazz elements, and Chris’ warm vocal tone. Though the music is uplifting, the lyrics deliver a powerful message.
The song was inspired by the global issue of police brutality. Chris says, “It seems to be never-ending within the black community, with people being killed at the hands of police, and in Africa seeing black police men killing black people. The aim of the song is to shed light on the matter and hopefully our voices and actions can make an impact.”
The song explores the convention we’ve all grown far too accustomed to, of hearing endless statistics about police brutality. Through this song, Chris encourages listeners to think of the individual people and stories behind these statistics. He hopes this song can help further the movement to end police brutality and racial injustice.
