Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Chaotic Neutral Gang. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the energy of his songs.
When I put on my headphones and hit the play button I was catapulted into a parallel reality.
It’s as if I took a step back in time, the nostalgic, irreverent, and energetic melodies transported me to the London of the 70s/80s.
Finally, a raw and sincere production, without that damn autotune and without that everything has to be perfect.
This kind of approach is perfect in my opinion for this genre, this music was born to awaken in you your rock and punk spirit.
While I was listening to these beautiful songs I imagined myself with a black leather jacket walking. with the mohawk hair, around Piccadilly Circus.
For a moment this music made me travel and gave me hope for the future of music.
I think there should be more artists like Chaotic Neutral Gang because this way of making music is nowadays a bit forgotten but in my humble opinion, it is indispensable and fantastic.
Demonstration is Chaotic Neutral Gang’s Album Out Now!
Irreverent and truthful!
Chaotic Neutral Gang is the concoction of Eddie Watson, a PhD student in British punk at the University of Texas at Austin. Inspired by the DIY ethos of his subject matter, he began writing back-to-basics fuzzy indie rock songs. His debut release, Demonstration, goes through topics ranging from the climate emergency, his hatred of toxic masculinity, and the emotional reckoning of creating a new home in America after moving from the UK in 2016.
