Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Caramel. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their style.
This band offers us songs in typical English style that made me think of the Beatles and Oasis.
The vocal timbre reminded me in some passages that of Kelly Jones of Stereophonics.
It feels like these guys have spent a lot of time in the rehearsal room to achieve this enviable musical understanding.
The thing I liked the most is that I felt their passion for composing and recording these beautiful songs.
The production is very good and the chord progression is never predictable and banal. The mix in particular leaves the right space for each sound element and the song breathes well.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.
Dreams Of 60s Counterculture is Caramel’s Single Out Now!
Good Vibes!
Dynamic four piece, Caramel, are bringing new life to the Brighton music scene. The band’s sound can be recognized by its explorative and spontaneous nature, inspired by the diverse musicality of acts like Jeff Buckley, Queens of the Stone Age and Unknown Mortal Orchestra.
Fronted by lead singers, Jamie Broughton and Olly Parkes, Caramel offers a musical experience that is intricate yet wild, mercurial in feeling and angular in its expression. Playing sold out, headline shows in their hometown of Brighton, the band are riding the current wave of new and interesting sounds that the city is exporting. Caramel can be summed up in part by their multidimensional take on music, their androgynous image, and their love for and engagement with visual mediums such as photography and fine art.
Caramel are a postmodern concoction of sounds, colours and vibrations that are refreshing to even the dullest of pallets.
