Good Day Noir Family,
our “Edgar Allan Poets’ Artists/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Hated Names and his new single Broken Android Slave. I found this artist on Spotify and I liked his musical vision.

The sound proposed by this artist is crepuscular and intriguing.
A compositional method that takes its cue from the past. The nostalgic melodies made me think of bands like H.I.M. However, Hated Names managed to mix modern elements that make this music unique.
The chord progression and melodic lines are intricate and refined. Surely we are faced with an artist with a great compositional experience behind him.
The continuous rhythmic variations manage to entertain the listener from the first to the last second. The attention to every detail is obsessive and the production is excellent.
The atmosphere created by the new single Broken Android Slave is a “futuristic nostalgia” that makes the frames of Blade Runner pass before your eyes.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Dan Weston, Divide and Conquer Created by producer Peter Gilbert, Hated Names is an alternative project bending genre boundaries from Pop, Metal and everything in between. Raised on a farm in the country of Australia, Peter grew up with limited influences to popular music. The only songs on his MP3 player were from the bands Nirvana, Silverchair and Weird Al Yankovic (He listened To “Eat it” before the original “Beat it”).
The only other influence to him came from the likes of video games, in which he would learn to replicate on the piano. This myriad of strange musical education at an early age has provoked a mind dump of strange musical creations ranging from whimsical to heavy. If you like music that’s distinctly unique yet familiar, Hated Names is sure to have something for you.
