This song makes your blood boil in your veins.

While listening to this passionate blues melody I felt the wind caressing my skin as I was driving a red 1959 Cadillac Eldorado. Breakthru Hardtimes is a song that makes you breathe in freedom.

The rhythm is so involving that while you listen to it you feel like John Belushi in the movie Blues Brother when he sees the light in the church.

This song speaks directly to your soul and awakens your most rebellious self. With this tune, you get rid of every chain and every problem and you feel life flowing inside you.

Derek Lee Goodreid always manages to convey deep emotions with his songs. A great songwriter who never ceases to amaze.

Absolutely reconfirmed.

Following on from the successful blistering, rockabilly, blues of Born to Raise Hell & Sing the Blues, Derek’s new single, Breakthru Hardtimes is a bluesy, soulful number reminiscent of Black Keys, Ben Harper and John Mayer. The song was inspired after a couple of tough years that included relationship failures, unemployment and health problems. The gritty yet tender blues ballad Breakthru Hardtimes was an epiphany for Derek.

From failure we can learn and grow, so don’t be afraid of it. There is no room for ruminating on the past and the negative thoughts that come from it when you have a clear mind focused on success. It took some time and it was difficult to see the light but with some professional support and good people in my life I managed to crawl my way up from the hole I was in. This song was my anthem through those times.
