Bacon and Eggs is Cigarillo’s Single
The irreverent and innovative compositional style of this band immediately put me in a good mood.
This song manages to free your head from bad thoughts. In such a difficult time for the world, I believe that this music is therapeutic.
Cigarillo proves to be a band with an interesting compositional approach in fact the harmonic choices and rhythmic variations are sought after and entertain the listener from the first to the last second.
These guys have created their own musical limbo that makes them stand out from the crowd.
The production and performance are great and it feels like Cigarillo enjoys composing and interpreting their songs.
An intriguing musical project that I recommend everyone to go and listen to.

Bacon and Eggs is Cigarillo’s Single
Heavily indebted to the artier end of post-punk and Britpop, Cigarillo is a collaboration between Marc Garnett (Brighton, Australia) and Ben White (Brighton, England). Building on the amazing legacy of Brighton indie pop bands, the band make catchy as hell indie rock numbers with a unique lyrical slant.
Bacon and Eggs is Cigarillo’s fifth single, due for release on October 21st on Adelaide label End of the Pier Records. A touching ode to parenthood, the song revels in the chaos of a new arrival with a deft touch of kitchen sink realism. Self-produced by the band from their studios in the UK and Australia, Bacon and Eggs sounds like a lost 90s Britpop classic with a grungy twist. The eye-catching video is like Grand Designs directed by Luis Bunuel, pushing the visual iconography of interior design into hilariously surreal territory.
Included in the digital single release are two bonus tracks, the first being a squonky dance remix by Brighton electronic artist (and Cigarillo member) The Organ Grinder’s Monkey. The second is a revelatory cover of Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off, which reimagines the casual complaints of a multimillionaire as a heartfelt cry for help from an alcoholic in the grip of delirium tremens. Impressively, it does this without changing the words.
Bacon and Eggs is the final taster from the long-awaited debut Cigarillo album Deodorant, released on November 18th digitally and on CD. The album was produced by the band in England and Australia, and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, The Killers, Pixies, Katy Perry).
