I am already a fan of this artist’s music. In the past, I have had the opportunity to listen to his songs and I must say that I was looking forward to the release of this album.
And today is the day that I started listening to all 12 songs of this beautiful album. Awakened’s coherence is undeniable and all the songs are solid.
Deserts, renegades, this music makes you imagine beautiful landscapes like the swamps of Louisiana and the Appalachian Mountains.
I recommend that you listen to these songs while driving. You feel free and are inspired to do more with your life… to be more adventurous and determined about the future.
This music is therapeutic and can recharge you with positive thoughts that literally change your approach to life.
A magnificent album that I recommend everyone to go and listen to.

The Story Behind Awakened (Album) by Gavin Fox
What do you get when you live a life expected and display a persona you think the world wants to see? When you try so hard to please every person in every situation? When you keep yourself so busy in a pointless effort to prove your self-worth, constantly comparing yourself to others and always falling short? You get a person who is unconscious, who lives in the shadows and who has failed to connect with who they really are.
If this person is fortunate enough to be faced with an intervening moment at some point in their life, they have the opportunity of self-discovery. They can experience an awakening, giving them a sense of freedom that can be liberating. Through deep reflection into their soul, they can discover and awaken parts of themselves they never knew existed.
This debut album represents such a life changing experience. Gavin Fox was the person described above. He embarked upon a liberating process of self-discovery at the age of forty and experienced an awakening. And, in so doing, he awakened a creativity for music and song he never knew existed. He picked up a guitar for the very first time and shortly after started writing some of the most honest and compelling songs you are likely to hear.
This album is a collection of stories. Some are personal. Some inspired by the stories of others. The music style spans alternative folk, Americana and rock, with acoustic guitar at its heart. And, for those looking for more depth, there is meaning in every lyric.
