Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Ask Carol. I discovered this fantastic band/duo while shuffling songs on Spotify and I instantly loved the energy of their songs.
The sound of Ask Carol is very innovative and energetic, the vocal effects are really interesting and make their sound original.
Their songs are energetic and experimental.
The melodic construction of the songs is perfect with constant dynamic variations that entertain the listener from start to finish.
You can feel that the band already has a lot of experience as the package they offer is complete.
Also on a stylistic level the Norwegian Duo has clear ideas and their Pop Alternative vibes are also clear from the colors and photos they choose to promote themselves.
A talented band with a great future ahead of them.
A mature project ready for a global audience…
Listen carefully to Ask Carol because they are coming for you from Norway with love 🙂
Darkest Hour is Ask Carol’s Single Out Now!
Innovative sound, professional production!
Ask Carol’s third single of 2020. With badass, passionate vocals from lead singer and lead guitarist Carol, this powerful twosome combines grunge, pop and bluesy elements to describe that “Darkest Hour” of anxiety and depression. The melancholy of Lana Del Rey’s voice meets the energy of Blood Red Shoes makes this a perfect track for any rock fans road trip playlist. This will be the first of a series of singles leading up to debut album 2021.
Based out of the Norwegian mountain community Auma, comes the grungy alt-pop duo Ask Carol. Ask Carol is a high energy power-duo with a big sound. Multitasking is their middle name. Two guitars, drums, a synth, a drum machine and an unique splitting system for Carol’s guitar, makes this two-piece sound like a full band. Their sound can be fierce and mean, then suddenly turn soft and comforting.
Their sound could make you think of artists like the Kills, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs with a Nordic, melancholic twist. Ask Carol has toured in the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, Scandinavia, SXSW two times and more and supported The Brian Jonestown Massacre.
Their first EP was released on Grappa Musikkforlag. The band now put out their music on ChoVan Records, their own Indie Label. Given the special circumstances, tours and concerts are postponed. They have a concert scheduled for October 10th in Oslo. This year they will be focusing on new single Run With You (May 15th) and the upcoming album slated early 2021.
