Good Day Noir Family,
Quaint Delusions waste no time making a statement with Anything Real?, an album that bridges the past and present.
Anything Real? is Quaint Delusions’ Album Out Now
From the very first track, Killing What I Can’t Even See, the band channels an era of raw experimentation.
The dissonant tones and swirling instrumentals feel like a flashback to Woodstock, with a bold compositional approach that taps into the soul of classic rock.
Mr. Chaos follows with an echo-drenched guitar and an intense vocal delivery that leans in close, evoking the spirit of Lou Reed. There’s an intimacy in the way the words are delivered, giving the song a sense of urgency and weight.
The mood continues with Lite Brite Sky, where the psychedelic undercurrents remain, but with an added flair—layered keys introduce an unexpected funk influence reminiscent of ‘70s and ‘80s grooves. The result is a unique track that defies easy categorization.
The album takes a refined turn with Loaded, a song built on fluid, winding guitar work and an atmosphere that feels almost like a late-night jazz session in New York. The interplay between the instruments creates a hypnotic effect.
Seems Like A Daydream lives up to its name, floating with beautifully crafted lyrics and background vocals that expand the sonic space. It has a laid-back, almost sly charm, making it one of the album’s most immersive moments.
Then there’s Just One More, a personal favourite—its uplifting energy and driving rhythm bring an infectious sense of optimism. The relentless pulse keeps things moving, leaving the listener with a lasting feeling of joy.
Closing the album is Lite Brite Sky – Weg Mix, a reimagining of the earlier track. This version takes an avant-garde approach, pushing boundaries once more. Even with its familiar roots, it surprises with its altered textures and arrangement, proving the band’s ability to reshape and reinterpret their own work.
Quaint Delusions have composed a record that thrives on exploration. Their ability to evoke emotion while experimenting with sound sets them apart, making Anything Real? a journey worth taking.

Adventurous!
In the heart of Tampa Bay’s music scene, three seasoned musicians—Roger Hughes, Steve Dicks, and Michael Starks—found themselves in an unexpected collaboration.
Initially trying to recruit each other for separate projects, the trio instead sparked the beginnings of what would become Quaint Delusions. What started as casual jam sessions quickly morphed into something far greater. Drummer Kevin DeHart and lap steel player David Lane joined the lineup, solidifying a collective that thrives on creative songwriting, experimental soundscapes and dynamic energy.
