I already reviewed Fintan McKahey in the past but he is out now with a new cool single and I want to share my opinion about it.
The atmosphere created by this sweet ballad definitely fascinated me.
A mysterious and warm voice that tells you a story and manages to speak directly to the heart and soul of the listener.
A song that I would call crepuscular… that is able to make you travel with your imagination.
I started seeing slow-motion frames of past memories, like when you find a drawer full of yellowed polaroids and you relive those moments and past adventures.
Fintan McKahey is a great songwriter and it shows that he has a lot of experience behind him as his songs are solid and mature.
An artist who reconfirms himself and who always manages to amaze me.
Amber is Fintan McKahey’s Single Out Now!
Sweet and Mature!
Cork (Ireland) based singer/songwriter/producer Fintan McKahey is set to release a new single “Amber” on February 11. The delicate indie/folk song features Fintan’s signature sincere, brooding vocals, panned wide for an intimate listener experience, as well as slick production and reflective ambient sounds.
Fintan describes it as, “A love song through & through.” He says, “I was stuck in a rut for months, until my partner and I got the unexpected news that we’re going to have a baby.” He goes on to say, “After that everything just started flowing, it felt like I finally had something to say again, intensely inspired by awaiting our baby boy and writing this song for the woman I love.”
The song features Kealan Kenny on pedal steel and Fintan himself on drums, giving it a more folk feel than his recent releases. The song was recorded and produced by Fintan in his newly built space, Ivy Hill Studios.
