Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Alta Falls. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their “vintage” compositional style.
I immediately liked the 80s vibes of the sound produced by this band.
A modern sound that takes its cue from a compositional style of the past, refined melodies and a very interesting sound research.
You feel that the members of this duo have a lot of experience behind them because they compose very well structured songs where every little nuance is kept under control. They decided to join forces to create something unique.
Just imagine the Pet Shop Boys meeting Duran Duran and Cold Play, this is the sound combination these guys reminded me of.
The production is very professional and as this kind of music is very popular these days I don’t think Alta Falls will have much trouble making themselves known to the masses.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.
Sun In My Eyes is Alta Falls’ Single Out Now!
Refined and Melodic!
Melodic hooks, soaring harmonies, and vintage 80s synth and guitar vibes are the defining features of Alta Falls, a Brisbane-based indie alternative outfit formed during the onset of COVID-19.
After spending much of 2020’s lockdown together, Alta Falls’ members took a deep dive exploring the social and global landscapes brought to light by the pandemic.
While the lyrical content is focused on the significant, the sound creates brilliantly danceable earworms. The sort you’d happily sink vodka Red Bulls to at a festival.
April 2021 introduced Alta Falls’ debut single, ‘Take Me On Down’, which was met with excellent reception. Triple j’s Dave Ruby Howe described it as, “Spring loaded indie pop with a neon heartbeat.”
Alta Falls are back with a bang with their new single, ‘Sun In My Eyes’.
It’s a sonically stunning piece of music, but the lyrics tell a different story. They paint a sad, anti-love story, from the opening scene, where the protagonist has lost someone they love.
