Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to A Place in Between. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I was fascinated by their compositional style.
I liked the sound of this band right away.
A modern and airy compositional method that has the ability to make you travel with your imagination.
The careful sound research and the attention to every slightest nuance make this music refined and hypnotic.
While listening to their new single Breathe I closed my eyes and let myself be carried away by the music.
I saw myself in a spaceship flying over unknown galaxies and planets where the forests were purple and the sea was red. I saw a blue sun emanate cosmic radiations and then I found my true self in the black hole.
More than a song, this tune is an introspective journey that will allow you to know parts of your unconscious that are still unknown.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.
Breathe is A Place in Between’s Single Out Now!
Magical!
A Place In Between started out in 2020 as a studio project of Belgian guitarists Thomas Francot (Mantis) and Gert Stockmans. For the recording of their first single “Inspiral” they joined forces with drummer Ruben Vandael (Mantis) and vocalist Sam Coussens (Pothamus). “Inspiral” made the longlist of “De Zwaarste Lijst” at the Belgian radio station Studio Brussel.
The new track “Breathe” was recorded with the same line up and mixed by Chiaran Verheyden (also known for his work with Psychonaut, Pothamus, Hippotraktor among others). Stylewise it lingers somewhere between dreampop, shoegaze and postrock. The moody and fitting videoclip was edited by Thomas Francot.
