Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to A Lens to the Sun. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the atmosphere of their music.
As soon as the first notes hit my ears I thought of Bowie’s way of composing.
Music that winks at the 70’s/80’s but manages to be modern and original at the same time.
I liked the cadence and the sound of the drums, the soft and warm kick is followed like a shadow by the bass that underlines without hesitation every phrasing.
The piano and guitars work excellently on the general harmony of this beautiful song.
The voice manages to interpret in a unique way the deep lyrics and I really liked the vocal timbre that stands out and makes the overall sound immediately recognizable.
A nice discovery that I feel like recommending to everyone.

A Lens to the Sun is a unique musical collaboration formed in north county San Diego during 2019 by Gideon Prior, Erik Elstermann and Logan Elstermann. With each member bringing an eclectic collection of influences, A Lens to the Sun lands somewhere sonically between the new romantic era of the 1980s with nods to artists including David Bowie, Roxy Music and Sting, to the brooding rock and roll of Muse and Radiohead and the delicate singer songwriter side of Neil Young.
