Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Sam Baird. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and his way of composing music.
As soon as I pressed the play button I immediately thought of a way of making music from the 90s, that bass line somehow reminded me of Nirvana.
Then as the song progressed I realized that this artist instead offers a modern and original music.
A unique sound that takes its cue from the past but that this artist manages to model on the sounds popular nowadays.
The beautiful chord progression is never predictable and banal and manages to entertain the listener from the first to the last second.
Great production, especially the mix where every sound element finds the right space and the song breathes well.
In the music proposed by Sam Baird I found a bit of Beck a bit of Smashing Pumpkins but in reality, I have to admit that this artist has a unique, incomparable style.
A beautiful discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Sam is an indie/alternative/rock musician with a passion for writing and recording his own material. Sam’s music career really started with the release of his debut EP, No One Can See You Now. Released to a small, but overwhelmingly positive response, he quickly followed up the release with two more singles, Put on Those Glasses, and, We Blow Everything Away But Ourselves.
Sam’s passion for music started at a young age, being introduced to bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, at around age 9. These bands would become the backbone for Sam’s early musical exploration. When he turned 10, he bought his first guitar, an Aria 714 Stratocaster. His passion grew stronger by the day as he practised, falling in love with the instrument. His collection of guitars grew throughout the 2010’s and so did his musical taste. Artists like the Arctic Monkeys and David Bowie started influencing his music more and more.
On the back of his debut album, Lines and Ripples, Sam is releasing his first single of 2021, Fall Down The Hurricane. The track was written and recorded live on stream in front of Sam’s fanbase, giving them some insight into Sam’s writing process. Fall Down The Hurricane is out April 9th and is full of energy.
