Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to WinterGreen. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their sound a lot.
Right from the first few seconds, I liked the musical style of this band.
A way of composing music that looks to the past but at the same time manages to be modern.
Many of the tunes proposed in their new album “Framed” have an infectious energy and put the listener in a good mood.
Songs developed in typical English style that bring with them the way of composing of the Beatles, Oasis etc a style that I personally like very much.
You can feel that this band has spent a lot of time in the rehearsal room as their musical understanding is enviable. The rhythm session pushes well and the bass follows the kick like a shadow.
Nice vocals that are emphasized with an effect that makes them instantly recognizable.
All the songs proposed in this album are interesting and the general production is excellent and very professional.
The mix in particular is very well balanced and leaves the right space for each sound element.
Go and listen to them, it’s worth it

Michael Knowles & Pete McGrath grew up in Stockport, a devil-forsaken satellite town of Manchester. They started writing angry songs in the young & foolish mid-90’s.
Now all grown up, tuned in, mellowed out, and held together by the glue that is their drummer Grant Cuddy, “Wintergreen” write beautiful musical stories that you can really believe did happen.
