Listening to the music of Westerner you immediately want to take the car and leave for a random destination along the Pacific Hwy.
Travel and feel free with the wind in your hair and sunglasses, remembering past adventures.
The catchy melodies hide a hint of melancholy and that’s what I liked the most in Westerner’s music.
The choice of the sounds is perfect for the genre!
Electronic sounds accompanied by some traditional instruments create special alchemy and make the sound unique.
The voice and choirs are impeccable, helped by a truly convincing production and mastering.
A very popular genre, well-performed, by a band that will surely have a great future.

“Restless is about leaving “home” or whatever comfortable situation you’re in so that you can feed your need for new sights and new experiences. Maybe there’s a goal you haven’t accomplished yet and you’ve gotta get back on the horse. We also put this song out at the end of 2020 on purpose because so many people are stuck in their houses on lockdown and there is simultaneously a need to shirk off our political norms and move into the new year with a new vision for ourselves”.
Westerner is an electronic, psychedelic rock band from LA. They’re a ballsy, cocktail mix of psychedelic rock, disco, and trip hop. Their songs are at once danceable and mesmerizing. You’re bound to get swept up in this most unusual, confident sound. Their hook-filled music and magnetism has led to recent write-ups in BuzzBandsLA, American Pancake, and V13, among others, as well as a long-term working relationship with mastering engineer, Vlado Meller (Kanye West, Paul McCartney) and mixing engineer, James “Fluff” Harley (Prince).
A Westerner live show is a phenomenon. The band delivers catchy pop songs, has a fantastic connection with the audience, and jumps from stage pieces. Electronic noises are combined with psychedelic soundscapes to create an exciting show that’s unlike anything you’ve seen or heard before. Music Connection Magazine has included them in their Hot 100 Live Acts list three years in a row (2016, 2017, and 2018).
