Sara’s voice takes the spotlight, exuding confidence and sincerity. She believes in the message she delivers, and her vocal performance is solid.
This gospel-infused country track digs deep into the roots of music, offering lyrics that feel like a spiritual awakening, reminiscent of the moment Belushi “sees the light” in The Blues Brothers.
The repetitive nature of the melody amplifies the impact of the song’s message, allowing it to echo long after the final note.
Toward the end, introducing the piano adds a surprising dimension, broadening the sonic palette and infusing the performance with a metaphysical quality.
It’s as if the song invites the presence of something greater, elevating the listener beyond the desert imagery its instrumentation evokes.
Water into Wine feels like a heartfelt sermon wrapped in melody, blending raw emotion and spiritual depth. This track is as reflective as it is uplifting, leaving the listener with a profound sense of connection.

Haunting!
“It’s an acoustic gospel song about Jesus this time”, says Sara Vian, “when Pete sent me the riff I could see a troubled cowboy in the desert and it just took me on a journey into the redemptive power of love, prayer and community in very challenging times.” The song was engineered and produced at The Bert Jansch Studio (Frome) and Axe & Trap Studio (Wells).
Judas Goat and the Bellwether is the love child of Pete Vincent, a multi-instrumentalist from Yeovil and Sara Vian, a singer/songwriter from Frome; described as indie-rock alchemy, transforming leaden woes into sonic gold with sweet, melancholic riffs, moody basslines & powerful, nuanced vocal performances with luscious harmonies.
