With only three tracks extending over 30 minutes, this project isn’t here to cater to radio play or commercial playlists.
Instead, it plunges listeners into a world of brooding atmospheres and layered sounds, crafted by an artist with a clear intent to step away from mainstream formulas.
The album opens with Noise, which instantly summons images of a winter forest at night. As chilling pads draw you in, a mysterious guitar arpeggio emerges after nearly three minutes, building intrigue.
The addition of syncopated bass and drums intensifies the tension, leading to a crescendo that ultimately recedes, leaving only the low, heartbeat-like thump of a drum. The track feels like a journey in itself, one that ebbs and flows with cinematic depth.
Driving Out maintains this intensity, building steadily with a sound design that rivals a high-stakes thriller. Distorted, atmospheric pads evoke a dystopian edge, blending dark, ambient tones with subtle ’80s touches reminiscent of John Carpenter.
The track’s haunting undercurrent leaves an impression of tension and anticipation, like being on the brink of discovery in a world that is familiar and unsettling.
The final track, Signal, closes the album with an expansive, almost intergalactic feel. This piece draws on the spirit of classic sci-fi, reminiscent of scenes from Blade Runner, with pulsing synths that paint images of cosmic exploration.
The sounds here are dark but pulse with a universal energy that feels all-encompassing, as though connecting the listener to something beyond.
