Originally started in 2006 by frontman Patrick Keenan, The Winter Sounds (TWS) quickly gained a reputation as one of the ‘must see’ bands of the crowded music scene in Athens, Georgia. Known for their frenetic live performances, the band blends the danceable post-punk of pioneers like Gang of Four with more contemporary electro-pop to forge their own unique sound.
Now currently based in Pardubice, Czech Republic, the band is pushing a new musical genre based on the literary movement of solarpunk, incorporating bedroom pop, retrowave, and fuzz-pop/hyper-pop elements. Solarpunk is the banner for a variety of movements towards a sustainable post-capitalist future.
