Time to Rise is Doron Karavani’s Album Out Now

Good Day Noir Family,
Doron Karavani’s Time to Rise is an album brimming with energy, artistry, and a keen sense of musical nostalgia.

Time to Rise is Doron Karavani’s Album Out Now

It opens with Catch Me If You Can, a track that bursts with a cantagious spirit.

The retro influence is clear, evoking the lively atmosphere of Big Band ensembles. As the winds come alive and the song reaches its electrifying finale, there’s a distinct Blues Brothers vibe—a perfect blend of instinctive, unrestrained musicianship.

Only Love shifts gears, showcasing Karavani’s introspective side. It’s a delicate and nostalgic piece, illustrating his ability to craft emotional depth with subtlety.

The album then moves into Above The Earth, where a folk-alternative edge emerges. The melodic structure, reminiscent of The Police, demonstrates his knack for intricate yet understated arrangements.

Not Tonight feels like a journey through time—a dreamy, ethereal track that would be the perfect soundtrack for a nighttime drive through a city, lost in thought.

One of the standout tracks, Sky High, transports you straight into a lounge bar with its sexy, nostalgic ambience. The melodic line has hints of ‘80s influence, adding to the sophistication of the track, while Karavani’s arrangements continue to shine.

The album closes with Look At You, a song that floats between memory and dream. Its suspended, timeless atmosphere rounds out the album with a reflective tone, leaving the listener in quiet contemplation.

Throughout Time to Rise, Doron Karavani proves himself to be a master composer. Every track feels well thought out, yet never loses its emotional connection.

The performances from all musicians involved are equally impressive, making this album a standout work of undeniable quality.

Refined!

Doron was born in Yemen but moved to Israel near Tel Aviv with his family. His passion for music began when he learned to play guitar and sing, inspired by his brother. He avoided military service in Israel by expressing his anti-gun stance and went on a journey to India. Later, while in Finland, with a pregnant girlfriend and no formal education, he launched a food delivery service called Gastronaut. However, due to economic struggles, the business failed by 2007. In 2011, he successfully started an Eastern Mediterranean restaurant chain, Fafas, which expanded to multiple locations across Europe.

After selling Fafas during the Covid-19 pandemic, Doron turned his focus to music as a way to cope with stress and express his emotions. He has written 500 songs since 2020, blending various Mediterranean influences. In 2024, he began working on an album, recording at Magnusborg Studio in Porvoo with a talented group of musicians, including his daughters. Doron’s music reflects his personal journey and the changes he wishes to see both in himself and the world.
