Giallo is Eyecolour’s Album Out Now
It’s a record that jolts you awake, demanding your attention. From the opening track, “We’re All Just Dogs,” it’s clear this band is not playing by anyone else’s rules.
The song is a psychedelic whirlwind, a heady mix of synths and grooves that propels you into a cosmic dance floor.
“Collapse” is another great track, with a guitar riff that burrows into your brain and a keyboard melody that lingers like a haunting echo.
It’s a track that shifts gears, hinting at an alternative rock influence while still retaining that core Eyecolour eccentricity.
“All Metal” leans more into this alternative rock territory, with Bowie-esque guitar work and a melody that feels familiar and strange. It’s a song that evokes nostalgia while sounding utterly fresh.
Then there’s “Slipaway,” a haunting ballad that draws comparisons to Radiohead. The vocals are otherworldly, like a message from the abyss. It’s a stark contrast to the rest of the album but fits seamlessly into the overall narrative.
Giallo is a record that rewards repeated listens all the songs are solid. Each track reveals new layers and intricacies. Eyecolour has crafted a unique sonic universe, a place where psychedelic, avant-garde, and alternative rock collide. This is a band that deserves attention.

EYECOLOUR (spelt as one word) are a four piece neo-psychedelic Brisbane/Meanjin band that have a darkly romantic, synth laden, introspective sound with hints of 1970s noir. Slowly carving their own combination of dark, gothy atmospheres with synthwave and alternative elements into their sound is making EYECOLOUR outliers within this genre.
