The sound of this band winks at the past but manages to be modern at the same time.
The thing that immediately hooked me is the refined melodies and chord progression of their new single Pandemonium.
The compositional approach made me think of bands like R.E.M and Counting Crows.
Although The Daytime High have just begun their musical adventure, they already demonstrate that they have a solid artistic vision and a highly developed aesthetic taste that allows them to make the correct compositional decisions.
The ethereal outro that concludes this song came unexpectedly and surprised me as it shows that The Daytime High tries to experiment by stimulating the listener with unusual and fascinating harmonic solutions.

The Daytime High is a band from California that brings together a diverse range of influences with an ability to blend them together seamlessly into a melting pot of nostalgia and modernity. Formed in the summer of 2022 the band already has a few singles out that bring a fresh take on classic rock, shoegaze, and alternative music.
