Dominion is Speckled Band’s Single Out Now
The twilight atmosphere created by the music proposed by this duo immediately intrigued me.
An enigmatic and ethereal style that somehow manages to speak to the soul and heart of the listener.
It’s as if the sound of the Speckled Band has the ability to activate your neurons that then trigger dreamlike visions.
The mix is very interesting, the groove in the background manages to be present in your ears with its hypnotic cadence.
Graham Grant’s vocal interpretation is original and intense. A unique vocal timbre that in some moments made me think of artists like David Bowie.
The attention to detail is obsessive and Dominion entertains the listener from the first to the last second.
A great find that I recommend to everyone.

Speckled Band are Graham Grant and Rupert Pink. Both are songwriters: Rupert is in charge of instrumentation and production while Graham, who writes the lyrics, is the vocalist. Speckled Band were originally known as The Simpletones and then as Captain Oates, releasing an album called The Dangers of Eskimo Loving. Now they’re reborn under the moniker Speckled Band: a nod to Sherlock Holmes, the inspiration for the track Three Piper. Influences include The Beatles, Scott Walker, Blur, and even the work of William Shatner.
The Speckled Band debut album ‘Casebook’ was released for Halloween 2020. The album was created during lockdown. Since then, the duo have released a string of other singles including Roger Moore and Panina, inspired by the story of treacherous British spy Kim Philby. The four-track Horror Story EP, about the production of a doomed Hammer Horror-style movie, was a multi-media release in October 2021. The Spotify tracks were accompanied by a TikTok mockumentary and material on our website.
Christmas 2021 saw the release of the single Bluebird and the B-side 1,000 Reasons Why. In 2022, Speckled Band launched a new record label – Three Piper Records. Singles this year include ’90s homage Gone From Here, Lost For Words, and the Screaming Skull Halloween EP, released in October 2022. Speckled Band released Peter Cook, an homage to the late great comedian and satirist, in November. And the spectral lament Ghost of Lovers Past is our Christmas 2022 single.
