Spirit Photographs is Gillian Stone’s Ep
I was very fascinated by the music of this talented artist.
An enigmatic and refined compositional style that mesmerized me.
Gillian Stone’s voice is magical, a vocal timbre that hides a secret and that manages to speak directly to the heart and soul of the listener.
In her voice, I heard the beautiful Canadian wilderness. I felt the cold wind, the endless forests, and the universal energy that surrounds us. While listening to this beautiful Ep I felt free and I literally abandoned myself to the music.
Her compositional approach reminded me of artists like Bjork.
Gillian Stone is an artist with a lot of compositional experience behind her who has a mature and solid artistic vision.
A wonderful discovery that I recommend to everyone. This artist has extraordinary compositional skills that make her stand out from the crowd.

Gillian Stone is a multi-instrumentalist, ethnomusicologist, and interdisciplinary artist based in Toronto (Tkaronto). Her vocally-driven work, which draws from post-rock, folk, ambience, and minimalism, has been described as “beyond characterization” and “surreal in its composition” (The Revue). Born and raised on the traditional territory of the Quw’utsun on Vancouver Island, with a profound connection to her Icelandic heritage, Stone channels the influence of outer landscapes in her inner lyrical worlds and soundscapes. Her music processes riding the waves of mental health, particularly as it relates to dysregulation, addiction, shame, relational trauma, and dissociation. Because of this, she speaks candidly about her lived experience through her music and expressions of artistic identity as an act of destigmatization
