Call Me is Air-Ik’s Single

The compositional style of this artist spoke to my soul and my heart.

You feel that this music has many life stories behind it … even if the song is a cover of Blondie the vocal interpretation and the version proposed by Air-Ik show us an artist who is not afraid to live and who truly looked into the abyss in the past.

He managed to add to Call Me nostalgia and an intensity that is missing in the original song. Surely we are faced with a talented composer and musician with a great musical experience behind him.

I instantly became a fan of this great artist and I am curious to follow his artistic path.

When an artist has a troubled past and manages to get out of any addiction, he can truly give us strong emotions as he has experienced them firsthand.

Air-Ik seeks only true and strong emotions to share with the listener.

Air-iK (Born Erik Dee Fullmer), is the Co-Founder and the former lead vocalist/guitarist of the Eccentric, Experimental, Gothic Metal band Willow Wisp that achieved success in the underground Gothic/Metal scene in Los Angeles in the 90s and early 2000s.

He left Willow Wisp in 2006 as he was battling with an alcohol and drug addiction that led him spiraling further into an abyss of nothingness. One day in late March of 2011, he woke up under a blistering Van Nuys sun in the parking lot of an AM/PM gas station hung over and wishing he was dead. But he really wanted to live so he decided to call his brother in Portland Oregon and ask for help.

It was a hard pill to swallow asking his little brother who used to look up to him when they were growing up to help his big brother out of a pretty big jam. He knew if he had stayed in L.A. he would be dead in less than a week’s time. With the help of his brother and his family he got into an outpatient treatment in Portland Oregon. Almost 9 years later he is still sober and making music again!
