Good Day Noir Family,
I already reviewed Dream of a Man in a Top Hat in the past but they are back with a new single Opposite Poles and I want to share my opinion about it.
Opposite Poles is Dream of a Man in a Top Hat’s Single
The inial acid guitar riff immediately intrigued me.
This band confirms its psychedelic style reminiscent of the 80s.
The thing that fascinates me about Dream of a Man in a Top Hat is that this duo doesn’t follow commercial rules to compose its music. Their instinct guides them on musical paths never walked before and allows them to have a unique and modern musical vision although inspired by the past.
Opposite Poles is a tune that lives in its own limbo. It exists on the line between light and dark and brings out the eclectic personality of this band.
A duo that had already intrigued me the first time I listened to them but with this song they reconfirm the twilight vibes and the originality of their artistic vision.
Another great song from a mature and solid band.
Opposite Poles is Dream of a Man in a Top Hat’s Single Out Now!
Intense!
Opposite Poles is Dream of a Man in a Top Hat’s Single
Lee Leffler (guitars, keyboards, vocals, lyrics) and Michael Frackleton (drums, bass, percussion, keyboards, vocals, lyrics) comprise the duo Dream of a Man in a Top Hat. The rehearsal space may now be two separate houses, lyrics aren’t jotted down on scrap paper but typed into a phone, the drums aren’t acoustic but electronic, and you can’t go and see them at the Rat or the Channel. But over the years one thing hasn’t changed. The same uncompromising sensibility can be found in the sounds that come out of these two. As music blogger mp3 hugger so aptly put it: “they have conspired to go about things in the only way they see possible and that means the rest of us have to shape up or ship out.
