A compositional style that takes its cue from the past but that manages to be modern at the same time.
The thing that I liked the most is the enigmatic and intriguing voice of the singer. An ethereal vocal timbre that is able to speak directly to the heart and soul of the listener.
Surely Tears Apart spent a lot of time in the rehearsal room to refine the sound and achieve this enviable musical chemistry.
This is a professional band offering quality music.
Their album Love is a coherent musical product where all the songs are solid and the production and interpretation flawless.
In general, this music transfers positive vibes but also has some nostalgic nuances that make it unique and fascinating.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Tears Apart, a professional set that sparkles musical joy
It all began with love. The story goes back to the Clayland studio in Turku in the early 2000s where songwriter/producer Jani Lankinen and singer Lotta Svartsjö met. The debut album Tears Apart (2014) was born out of shared passion for music. Since then, the band has become known for their ability to capture the audience both on track and stage through their creative expression. The pandemic forced to abandon stage and now at the time of releasing their second album the band is eager and energized. LOVE is out now on digital streaming platforms and in compact disc format (released May 20th)!
Tears Apart ́s musical smoothie is a mix of soul, pop and acoustic rock. Its characteristic twist derives from an infusion of a subtle hint of dramatic electronic sounds, combining in a delicacy that the audience has aptly named “Rock ́n ́soul”.
Tears Apart is passionate about their music, and the contemporary take on 60 ́s–70 ́s soul and rock sounds crisp and vivid both live and on record. The members of the band have varying and vast experience in the music profession. Radiant and soulful singer Lotta Svartsjö started her musical career in the girl pop band I ́Dees, whose biggest hit “Time” has become a household tune on Finnish radio. Drummer Mikko Mäki is known from the famous and beloved Suurlähettiläät, the band that is often referred to be “the ambassadors of soul”. Raine Hynninen is a big fan of progressive rock, and can be heard in bands such as Salaliitto and Limonadi Elohopea. Rami Saarinen is a versatile guitarist bringing smooth country vibes as well as unrestrained rock to the band ́s sound. The man behind the mixing console is the trusted and fearless songwriter and producer Jani Lankinen, also known as the producer for the rock pioneer Xysma.
