Good Day Noir Family,
I already reviewed The Kid and I in the past but they are back with a new single Fade Away and I want to share my opinion about it.
Fade Away is The Kid and I’s New Single | Edgar Allan Poets
The initial guitar riff made me raise my hand with horns pointing the sky. A cool rock/grunge sound, direct with no strings attached.
The influences of the 90s are evident and bands like Alice in Chains and Soundgarden came to mind. But these guys managed to create something unique and modern and so every now and then the intricate melodic line reminded me of Panic! At The Disco with Radiohead undertones.
In short, the mix I made is a bit risky but the sound of The Kid and I is so original that it is difficult to label.
Surely we are dealing with a mature band, with great compositional skills and above all with a very developed artistic taste.
If I were a producer I would sign them immediately. I think they have what it takes to entertain the masses around the world.
They are fantastic!

Fade Away is The Kid and I New Single | Edgar Allan Poets
The Kid and I return with new alternative rock single ‘Fade Away’. Featuring big riffs and a twisting dark pop melody, ‘Fade Away’ delves into the psyche of someone imbedded in self destructive isolation. Touching on the topic of isolation, anxiety and self loathing whilst being delivered at break neck speed, ‘Fade Away’ is a new direction for the band – taking on heavier influences whilst still containing the big catchy choruses and introspective lyrics that they’ve become known for.
