Loukanikos is Star Persona’s Single Out Now

Good Day Noir Family,
Star Persona has a knack for storytelling through music, bringing to life the tales of real-life heroes that might otherwise remain unknown to many people.

Loukanikos is Star Persona’s Single Out Now

In their previous single, they immortalized the story of Jenna Talackova, and now, with “Loukanikos,” they pay homage to an unlikely hero: a dog named Loukanikos, a legend in Greece.

The song’s opening plunges the listener into the heart of the 2008 riots that swept across Athens and Greece.

Distorted guitars roar, drums pound relentlessly, and the bassline churns like a relentless tank, perfectly capturing the chaos and unrest of the era.

In this sonic storm, Star Persona presents to us a tale of heroism, of a dog named Loukanikos who fearlessly stood against the police and fought for freedom alongside his people.

The melody is powerful and emotive, with unexpected twists that mirror the twists and turns of Loukanikos’s brave actions.

The song’s guitar solo is fantastic, and reminded me of Brian May’s soaring melodies, adding an air of grandeur and heroism to the narrative.

“Loukanikos” is a tribute to a canine hero and a reminder of the indomitable human spirit. It’s a call to action, urging us to stand up for what we believe in, even in the face of adversity.

Heroic!

Loukanikos (Greek: Λουκάνικος: “the sausage loukaniko”), initially named “Theodor”, was a Greek riot dog that participated in almost every anti-austerity protest in Greece. He was commonly known for joining protests, barking at police, helping in street battles with the Greek police as well as participating in anarchist rallies and picket lines, at least since December 2008. The dog had a reputation of being fearless, usually being in front of the protests and having tear gas thrown at him multiple times.
